UBON CANDLE FESTIVAL 2013
As previously mentioned on my
entry, Ubon Ratchathani has hundreds and hundreds of temples across the city.
YES! Even after passing by an assemblage of houses, there you will see a
temple; whether in a middle of busy yet fully stocked establishments or simply
just on a vacant lot. Having said that, Ubon made a commonsensical explanation
on why it holds the biggest and most extravagant Candle Festival throughout
Thailand during full moon in July which symbolizes the beginning of Buddhist
Lent.
Moi alongside with my cousin
Nowa, Sir Cheng, and some English friends (who really came to Ubon just to
witness the major candle festival) fought the scorching sun and let ourselves
be amazed on what Ubon Ratchathani Candle Festival stored for us.
AND IT NEVER FAILED US!

Way back in my home town (Davao
City, Philippines), we always celebrate annually Kadayawan Festival which
showcases the bountiful harvest of town in regards with fruits (especially
durian) and flowers. It always astonishes me and every year after year, it gets
better and better but Abraham knows how I was being blown away with these
minute detailing of wax making up a gigantic float! How on earth did they make
those floats? HOLY CHRIST!
INDEED, THERE IS MORE TO LIFE!
TRAVEL AND EXPLORE THE WORLD!
Keep posted. I love y’all!
